Lombok International Airport Operates July 2011

Starting in July 2011, the island of Lombok will have new international airport. Lombok International Airport will become the main airport in particular from international air transport to the region of Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB).

This was submitted by the Governor of NTB Zainul Madji when met at his office, Mataram, on Friday (18/03/2011).

"July the new airport we operate in Central Lombok, its capacity doubled from Selaparang (Mataram)," he said.

Zainul add Lombok International Airport has a land area 9 times larger than Selaparang Mataram airport. Area of ​​the airport is reached more than 550 hectares.

"In addition to the new airport, there are 6 ports are fixed, the funds of Rp 25 billion," he said.

Lombok International Airport able to accommodate wide-bodied aircraft like Boeing 747 and Airbus aircraft. Direct flights can be served antaralain Lombok-Singapore, Lombok, Malaysia.

In addition to the international airport which operates immediately, NTB has a domestic airport and airport pioneer. That is capable of Mataram Airport Selaparang Fokker 100 and 737 accommodate the A500. There are also Airport Brang Seeds in Sumbawa Besar which can accommodate Salahudin Airport Fokker 27 and Fokker Bima can accommodate 27.
